Oeuvre de Vanly Tiene "La bête"
The art historian Élie Faure wrote in D'autres terres en vue (1932): "The black people provided its humus to the lyrical vegetation of humanity. As such, the black soul is presented as an irreplaceable ferment. Around the words of Élie Faure, the exhibition designed by the ISBA of Besançon shows several young African artists living in the territory of Burgundy Franche-Comté with French people with experience of Africa. These various exchanges and dialogues aim to explore a certain image of the immense continent that has become a source of inspiration. Immigration, ecology, consumption, shamanism, border crossings, censorship: so many themes running through the works that question the history, contemporaneity and relationship to the world of Africa.
