Ordinary Stories of an Alsatian Family 1914-1918
Look inside a house as it was in 1914 and experience the daily life of an Alsatian farming family in wartime. The exhibition highlights the role of women at the time, who often had to manage the farm alone as the adult males had left to fight in the war. Photographs, postcards, extracts from letters and everyday objects illustrate how people lived during the Great War.
An exhibition staged in partnership with the Network of Museums of Three Countries 2014 (Lörrach/Germany), as part of the centenary of the start of the First World War
