The Metamachines of François Klein
The exhibition « The metamachines of François Klein » is an invitation to discover the universe of this artist who lives and works in the Vosges, in Senones. François Klein patiently collects objects that are discarded by a society obsessed with new things to create bizarre and fantastic machines, so-called metamachines, a reference to the Swiss artist Jean Tinguely.
With the engines of an old record player or an old kitchen machine, these objects gain a new life and create an unreal sound universe. This imaginary poetry, which has delighted Marcel Duchamp and the Surrealists, also inspires us to reflect upon the question of obsolescence and our relationship to the machine.
