From October 21, 2023 to February 25, 2024, kunsthalle messmer cordially invites you to admire the distinctive works of Marc Chagall. Entitled "Dreamed Worlds", this exceptional exhibition presents in Riegel a comprehensive and high-caliber collection of his masterful works inspired by dreams, memories and religious symbols. Inspired by the renowned exhibition "Chagall - Poetry and Dream" (2013) at kunsthalle messmer, you will now experience these impulses reinterpreted and be able to admire works not previously shown in Germany through an innovative curatorial concept. To be discovered are works on paper, including gouaches, monotypes, hand-colored etchings and color lithographs, from the "Fables of La Fontaine" (1961), the Bible Chronology (1931-56), the Paris period (1954), the "Daphnis and Chloe" cycle (1961) and the Circus series (1967). Embark on a visual journey through the surreal depictions in which Chagall's world unfolds over nearly a century.
