With the publication last summer of his illustrated book "Ischgl", Lois Hechenblaikner (*1958) caused quite a stir in the international media. Since the mid-1990s, the photographer from Alpbachtal in Tyrol has been observing the effects of mass tourism on his homeland. For him, Ischgl in particular, with its all-winter après-ski excesses, is the epitome of a "Delirium Alpinum" and "tourist madness". The ski resort also achieved questionable notoriety in connection with the Corona crisis in the spring of 2020. The Museum Ulm is now presenting a selection of photo series, videos and installations by Lois Hechenblaikner, in which he accompanies the change of his homeland as a sensitive observer.
