Joan Miró. New Beginnings
Exhibitions

Joan Miró is known for his colourful dream worlds. Especially after moving into his own large studio in Palma de Mallorca in 1954, which he had longed for for a long time, the Catalan artist expanded the concept of painting in a hitherto unknown way. He felt that his previous conventional staggered painting was a restriction and from then on he looked for new forms of expression. For example, instead of using a brush, he began to "paint" with fire and scissors. The great admirer of Paul Klee never grew tired of questioning his own artistic practice and always trying out new techniques and materials. This moment of self-criticism and new beginnings, triggered by the move to the new studio on Palma, forms the starting point for the exhibition.
