Handle with care - Sensitive objects of the Ethnological Collection

Colonial looted art and provenance research: in recent years, ethnological museums have been the focus of a critical public as never before. But why are their objects so "sensitive"? The term encompasses many aspects: how did the exhibits come into the collection? Who did they originally belong to? What is their culturally specific significance? And how do we deal with them today? "Handle with care" shows which ethical and practical questions also occupy Freiburg's Museum Natur und Mensch and thus complements the exhibition "Freiburg and Colonialism: Yesterday? Today!" at the Augustinermuseum.
