Gypsies, the other wandering people

Paintings exhibition

The nomadic people have always been victims of rejection and exclusion. Gypsies were for very long enslaved in the Balkans, victims of genocide during World War II, and still are subject to strong negative prejudice. However, the representations of artists of these people with wandering roots, reflect our ambiguity and our attraction to the freedom they symbolize, the journeys at the whim of the wind, the symbiosis with nature, the celebrations. A life far from the constraints of society.
