"Georg Scholz as a Colleague"

Exhibitions
Georg Scholz mit Farbpalette und Pinsel im Hintergrund sitzend seine Frau
The painter Georg Scholz (1890-1945) achieved international renown for his lithographs in which he radically exposed social grievances. This socio-critical reflection is missing in his later works and can be seen as an artistic expression of the decisive changes in his life from 1933 on. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his death, three contemporary artists from Waldkirch engage with Georg Scholz and his personal situation during this time. In their own works, they look at the significance of Scholz as a person and colleague for contemporary artists and invite us to get to know the painter from a hitherto little known side.
