Exhibitions

Rhineland-Palatinate is extraordinarily rich in natural treasures. For example, the region's geological history can be traced over a period of 400 million years at numerous fossil sites, some of which are world-famous. In addition, Rhineland-Palatinate is characterised by an extraordinarily large variety of unique natural areas with a high degree of biodiversity. As the largest natural history museum in the federal state and owner of the RLP state collection, the Museum of Natural History in Mainz is planning a special exhibition in the heart of the state capital that will provide a comprehensive overview of the natural treasures of Rhineland-Palatinate, drawing particular attention to the fundamental importance of biodiversity for nature and humanity.
