As in most museums, many objects in the Mainz Landesmuseum are in storage most of the time. This is particularly true of the Prints and Drawings Collection with its light-sensitive holdings, of which only the proverbial tip of the iceberg can be presented to the public in changing special exhibitions.
As part of a seminar, students from Prof. Megan Francis Sullivan's Drawing class visited the depot rooms of the Prints and Drawings Department and, together with the collection's director Dr. Maria Aresin, discovered the treasures that lie dormant there.
The students then incorporated the results of their research into their own works on paper, which are now being exhibited.
