The Doller Museum
Model churches in spring colours, figures made of concrete, a blue bestiary, multi-coloured flowers carved out of wood... the work of the Art Brut artist André Bindler (1922-2011), resident of the Doller Valley, has been preserved in the surroundings of the Colmar House. In the 1980s, he created a universe consisting of a collection of representations that are divided into specific themes. He worked with recycled materials, and his imagination is typical of an Alsatian of his generation.
This œuvre, on which wind and weather have left their mark, is currently being restored. In a touching juxtaposition, the restored elements are to be found alongside those that are still damaged.
Take care - (exciting) building site!
