Country Outings Northern Black Forest - 4 Exhibitions in 4 City Museums
The world spa Baden-Baden, the wild and romantic Murg Valley, the tranquil city of Ettlingen and the Turmberg (Tower Hill) in Durlach have been luring travellers and trippers to our region since the beginning of the 19th century. In the Romantic era, travellers set out from the Rhine Valley to discover the exciting area of the northern Black Forest. On foot, by coach, by train and in the first cars, they came to Baden's former residental cities of Durlach, Ettlingen, Rastatt und Baden-Baden. On excursions they explored the Black Forest Highway, the delightful Alb Valley, the enchanting Favorite Castle and the ruined fortress on the Turmberg.
Four museums – the Stadtmuseum Baden-Baden, the Stadtmuseum Rastatt, the Museum Ettlingen and the Pfinzgaumuseum in Karlsruhe-Durlach – are showcasing these themes in four exhibitions in summer 2019.
