The focus of the exhibition is on the people of Karlsruhe in whose lives the Rhine plays or played an important role - and also on those who in turn shape or shaped the image of the river near Karlsruhe. Historical personalities are presented as are today's residents of the city.
The people presented are just as varied as their relationship to the river. Whether as a workplace or sports area, whether as a source of artistic inspiration or a space to experience nature - the exhibition shows the wide range of possibilities the Rhine has always offered and how the people of Karlsruhe know how to use them in very different ways and also, over and again,in new ways.
