Bridget Riley

Exhibitions
Bridget Riley, Turquoise Cerise and Grey Curves, 1970, Gouache auf Papier, Kunstmuseum Bern, Anne-Marie und Victor Loeb-Stiftung, Bern
The British artist Bridget Riley is one of the most prominent representatives of post-war abstract painting. Her work, which has received numerous awards, connects directly with the legacy of the Bauhaus, among other things. For the exhibition at the Zentrum Paul Klee, the artist has selected works from her own collection that reveal her development as a painter up to the present day. The focus is on a trip the artist made to Egypt in 1979, which had a decisive influence on her approach to colour. In addition to a thematic selection of colourful paintings, the exhibition also provides an insight into Bridget Riley's working process and seen numerous rarely shown preliminary studies and sketches.
