Biwak#31: Après-Lift. Ski slopes changing over time

In the beginning was the mountain slope. The slopes became ski slopes, then the ski slopes acquired lifts. And as there was less and less snow, the lift slopes became ski slopes once more. Wherever there is now no snow at all, only the mountain slope remains – welcome to «Après-Lift».

Biwak#31 is dedicated to the après-lift slopes of Switzerland. We’ve selected six surprising examples in various parts of the country and at a range of altitudes. Do you know about the lift that has now vanished in the forest in Ruedertal – but was once the longest ski lift in Aargau? Or the abandoned gondolas of the erstwhile ski resort Super St-Bernard?
