Hunting is a tangible activity, as this exhibition shows. The focus is placed on what today’s hunters actually do: What motivates them? What relationship do they have to their quarry? What skills are needed to cut up the animal and prepare the meat? And is hunting still an acceptable practice today?
The exhibition focuses on the narratives of hunters, who give visitors an insight into their experiences and guide them through a journey into their world. Parallel to this we present the material culture associated with hunting. The clothing: shoes, hat, gaiters, buttons made of horn, shirt. The equipment: hunting calls, binoculars, camera, rucksack, hip flask, beaker, pocket knife. And the weapons and hunting aids: knife, rifle, telescopic sight, snares, hunting bow.
