bHK meets Slevogt

A Journey to the Pataline Impressionism
Exhibitions
Überall_Waldstück unter Ludwigshöhe
More than a hundred years ago, Max Slevogt was one of the grandees of German Impressionism, along with Max Liebermann and Lovis Corinth. To this day, he exerts a great attraction on many people. The artist duo Christian Heuchel and Gunter Klag (bureau Heuchel-Klag, Bellheim) followed his traces between Berlin and the Palatinate and embarked on an artistic journey through the life and work of the painter. In collaboration with their artist friends Ralph Musielski and Mike Überall, they developed a series of paintings in dialogue with the colour worlds of the great German impressionist. Supplemented by grahic prints, drawings, poems and an experimental video, it provides insight into the multi-layered exploration of Slevogt's work and artistic personality.
