Against time
Still life from the Landau Art Foundation and contemporary art
On the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the city of Landau, the Municipal Gallery Villa Streccius shows the exhibition "Against Time". Still lifes from the Landau Art Foundation are presented together with works by contemporary artists from Rhineland-Palatinate.
The works of the Art Foundation, which have not been shown publicly for many years, are mainly by painters of the "Palatine Classic Modernism" such as F.F. Koch, August and Hermann Croissant, Rolf Müller-Landau or Hermann Sauter, but also include prints by Werner vom Scheidt or Klaus Heinrich Keller. Contemporary works include photography inspired by baroque still lifes (Elizabeth Joan Clarke), oil paintings with a classical feel (Sabine Steimer), and sculptural works (Roland Albert).
Vernissage: Friday, January 26, 2024, 7 p.m.
