"125 years YB. Bern and the Young Boys – The Jubilee Exhibition"

Exhibitions
125 years YB. Bern and the Young Boys – The Jubilee Exhibition
On 14 March 1898 four high school students from Bern set up their own football club: FC Young Boys. The schoolboy team played their first matches on the old sports ground behind the Bernisches Historisches Museum. In 1903 YB won their first Swiss championship title. A good twenty years later BSC YOUNG BOYS found a new home in the Wankdorf stadium. Today it is one of the most successful clubs in Switzerland, and is close to the hearts of the people of Bern.
The anniversary exhibition is an invitation to experience, to learn, and to play. It gives voice to people from different periods, bringing alive the ups and downs of the club’s turbulent history. Setting this moving piece of local history in a broader historical context raises further questions that the exhibition also addresses: How did football come to Switzerland? When did women first start playing? How has fan culture evolved? The exhibition is complemented by a fun activity park in the museum grounds and by a range of different events.

The exhibition is being held in conjunction with BSC YOUNG BOYS.
