Entrepreneur and designer Anton Lorenz played a significant role in the breakthrough of modern tubular steel furniture in the 1920s and 1930s. Thanks to him, famous furniture designs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, or Le Corbusier became successful mass-produced articles. Wolf Tegethoff, former director of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte, talks about Lorenz and another key figure of the era: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the last director of the Bauhaus.
